How much can you trust your senses? When Alex Roivas inherits her grandfather’s estate and finds a book bound in human flesh, she starts to wonder exactly how firm “reality” is. Pages scattered throughout the mansion make Alex relive the lives of people throughout history who held the Tome of Eternal Darkness and wielded its power, including people within her own bloodline.
Eternal Darkness is known and lauded for its sanity effects, which Nintendo loved so much they patented them. What’s less discussed is the game’s action oriented combat, and generation-hopping story that mixes up gameplay wildly from protagonist to protagonist.
